Landis Promoted
          Kyle Landis has been promoted within the Cleveland Indians organization.  Kyle will finish out the season with the Kinston Indians, (Class A+), of the Carolina League.  Congrats Kyle!

Justin Gutsie reports to Spokane   
         Justin has agreed to terms with the Texas Rangers and will report to the Spokane Indians minor league team.  Best wishes Justin, we'll be watching.

The Texas Rangers made Justin Gutsie the 423rd overall pick in Major League Baseball’s annual amateur player draft Friday, June 6, 2008, taking him in the 14th round.

Local Players in College and Professional Baseball
     Many of you who attended NEBA clinics this year had the opportunity to meet and work-out with some local young men who are playing ball at the next level.  Here's an update on where they're at, and some links to allow you to follow them during the season.
 
Russ Canzler - playing for the Daytona Cubs, class A+ affiliate of the Chicago Cubs.
 
Kyle Landis - playing for the Lake County Captains, class A- affiliate of the Cleveland Indians.
 
Justin Gutsie - attending and playing ball at St. John's University.
 
Zach Fritz - attending and playing ball at Lafayette College.
 
Matt Palko - attending and playing ball at Lock Haven University.
 
Sean Landis & Chris Cascio - both attend and play ball at Penn State / Hazleton.
 

Pre - Season "Tune-Up" Clinic   
We are pleased to announce that the North East Baseball Academy will offer our First Annual "Pre-Season Tune Up Clinic".  We will offer this clinic to all past participants of NEBA clinics.
 
The clinic will be held on Sunday, April 6th from 2pm until 5pm in the Red's Baseball Academy.  The clinic will be run by NEBA staff and the members of  the Reds Baseball 14U team.  The clinic will focus on all aspects of the game....hitting, throwing, catching, infield and outfield play.
 
The cost for the clinic will be $10 payable at the time of the clinic.  To make a reservation, please email us at neba@ptd.net or call us at (570) 929-1483.
