Galt United Premier U12 soccer team wins the Division 1 Stanford Summer Classic Championship.

This past weekend our Galt United Premier Boys soccer team played in the Stanford Summer Classic Division 1 soccer tournament in Palo Alto. The boys were matched up against the host team Stanford Catatumba First game of the tourney. That game proved to be a good start to the weekend for Galt winning 8-0. The next game had a lot more riding on it. Galt had to play the Orchard Valley Spartans which Galt played this last season in the State Cup Championship game. Galt had won that State Cup game in double overtime for the Championship. The boys knew O.V. wanted revenge for that loss, but it wasn't going to happen Saturday for the Spartans team as Galt dominated the game with an 8-2 victory. Sunday brought the semi-finals and a tough, very physical Juventus Fury team. Galt jumped out early with there high powered offense scoring quick and they never looked back for a 4-1 win. This win sent them into the Championship game against one of the top teams in the state, Santa Rosa. The game was very close and extremely physical. The game remained 0-0 at half time and the boys knew they had to turn up the intensity in the second half. Galt scored a goal about midway through the second half and they let there defense take over from there. Galts defense which is undeniably one of the top in the state and showed that once again denying Santa Rosa of any goals.
The final score was 1-0 in Galts favor bringing another Championship home. This team is something special and are looking forward to representing Galt soccer for years to come.
