WELCOME TO WEST VALLEY BASEBALL! We are in our final seasons of playing on this field. It is due to be demolished after the 2009 season when we move to our new field at the new high school. It will be immediately west of our present field (where the orchard is in this picture).

West Valley 10 Year Old All Stars Take Second
The 10 year old "A" all star team made quite a run at the district championship but came up short against Greater Richland in the championship game. The week started with WV falling behind 6-0 to perennial powerhouse Richland National, but came back with 6 runs in the 5th inning to tie it and then scoring the winning run in the bottom of the 6th to win 7-6. The following day West Valley held Selah to 1 run through 5 innings and had a 2-1 lead heading into the 6th inning, but WV starter Kasey Wyckoff reached his little league limit of 75 pitches and the bullpen couldn't keep the Selah team off the board as they scored 4 runs in the top of the 6th, WV responded with a run in the bottom of the inning but it wasn't enough as they fell 5-3 and were sent to the loser's bracket.
On Monday, WV took on Pasco's B team and there was never a doubt as the offense rolled to a 23-0 win and the WV pitching staff also did it's job. Tuesday, WV took on Yakima National's A team and eliminated them in the 5-3 game. Peyton Shafer pitched into the 4th inning for the winners and Justin VanDeBrake came on to shut out Yakima in the 6th. Wednesday, Upper Valley was the next opponent and Wyckoff once again took the mound. He reached his 75 pitch limit in the 5th inning with 2 outs and Wyatt Martz got the third out of that inning and Eli Valdez closed out the 6th inning. On Thursday, VanDeBrake got the start against Richland National's ace, whom West Valley got out of the game in the 3rd inning. Eli Valdez came on in the 4th and shut out Richland for the final 2+ innings. On Friday July 4th, it was a big rematch with Selah and Shafer took the mound again. Offense was the topic this day as Wyckoff led off the 2nd inning with a solo home run over the left field fence for a 1-0 lead. Later in the 2nd inning, Wyckoff stepped to the plate with runners on 2nd and 3rd and promptly hit another home run well over the fence in left to push the WV lead to 8-0. Wyckoff finished the day 4-for-5 with 7 RBI as West Valley cruised to the 19-3 win and secure a spot in Saturday's championship game against Greater Richland. A long week of baseball came to a sudden end as Greater Richland scored 7 runs to end West Valley's tourney. WV had chances, leaving the bases loaded in the 2nd and 3rd innings without scoring. Playing games on 8 consecutive days was tough, but at 6 wins and 2 losses, it was quite a week. WV eliminated 5 teams in the loser's bracket.
