I would like to first say thank you to all of our supportive parents Without support from our parents, a successful season would not be possible.
My goals for this season is first to make the experience fun; this means for the kids, myself and you. If everyone is having fun, then I must be doing something right. My second goal is to teach the game of baseball to each child. I want every child on the TruVista team to step away this season with the knowledge of baseball fundementals. My highest goal is to instill the love of the game into each player, with hope that each child will want to play for years to come.
The nine P's for a positive season:
1. Priorities- Fun, safety & development
2. Patience- Ability to go over things again & again, never losing enthusiasm
3. Persistence- Never giving up
4. Players- Describe, Demostrate & Drill
5. Preparation- Be Ready
6. Participation- Needed from everyone
7. Practice- Keeping them fresh & exciting
8. Playing- Teach & encourage each player
9. Parents- An important piece of the success puzzle
Team Party
We have scheduled the end of the season Team Party for Sunday, June 1, 2008 - from 2 - 5pm. We will be grilling hotdogs and playing baseball - PARENTS vs. KIDS!!!! So bring out your chairs & come out for a GREAT time!!!
Becky Collins has a list of items we will need for the party. If you would like to bring something to help us out -- please see Becky, as soon as possible or call Amy at 803-482-4513!!!
We hope all the baseball players & their families will be there!!!
All-Stars Game:
Please return the signed letter ASAP if you child will be available, if chosen, for post-season games. You may give them to Amy. If you have lost your paper, please see Amy if your child will be available for All-Stars, if chosen.
Lets keep up the good work, our hitting has picked up, so lets not let it drop. Stay with me and everybody pay close attention, base running and mistakes in the field have got to improve to win the close games. I know you have all got it in you, so give it your all! Remember, the key to success--

Game Ball....5/27/08--- Tonight's Game Ball went to Aaron Blackmon. He hit a single scoring in the winning run! Way to go Aaron!!! Great job Austin for hustling and scoring the win!!!
Sportsmanship
It's OK to cheer for our kids, but PLEASE let's not put down or cheer against the other kids. They are kids too and we wouldn't want anyone putting ours down. We got a few complaints last year, so please be careful. Lets teach Good not Bad Sportsmanship... Thank You !!
TEAMWORK!!!
Parents, please have a talk with your ball player. We had a couple of players in the dug out putting down their teammates at one of the games. All the players have been told that if they are caught talking bad about one of their teammates (you can't hit, you can't catch, you suck, etc...) they will be taken out of the game and sent to sit in the stands with a parent or home - parents choice. Lets put a stop to this before it hurts the team. Thank you for your help.
TruVista's dedicated players:
As everyone has found out, Jess Collins and Christopher Culp have had to miss a few games due to injuries. Thumbs up to Jess & Christopher for coming out and staying with the team. Chris has already returned to field; although he is still suffering some injuries, he's back in the game and doing an awesome job!! Jess should be returning around May 22 to the field, we can't wait to have him back!!! These are both dedicated baseball players who have stayed with their team, even when injuried!!!
