Kris Kushnerick got the start, and although it wasn't perfect, it was good enough as he went 5.00 innings allowing 3 runs and 1 earned run while walking 3 and striking out 6 for his third victory of the year. Craig Koughan came in to pitch the final 2 innings, and record the first Ryley Rebels save since the rebirth in 2009. Koughan saw 11 Lakers, walking 1 and striking out 3 enroute to the save.

Offensively for the Rebels, 1B Kyle Reinholt led the charger going 3 for 3 with a home run, and 2 singles, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI's. Kyle Reinholt now joins brother Kevin Reinholt and Koughan in the home run race, each with one dinger in 2010.

Kushnerick and Kevin Reinholt each chipped in with 2 hits a piece, while the team knocked out 12 hits in 29 at bats on Thursday night with 8 of the 10 Rebels getting at least one base hit each.

Dustin Solberg made his first start behind the plate, catching the complete 7 innings while allowing no passed balls and preventing a couple of wild pitches by Kushnerick and Koughan.

Also of note, the Rebels had no walks offensively which is the first time since the start of the 2009 season that it has happened. Manager Kevin Reinholt wanted the team to be aggressive at the plate, and that is exactly what happened.

The Rebels will now turn thier attention to the 2010 Ryley Sports Days festivities, where they will take on the 2009 tournament champs, the Provost Combine Pilots on Saturday morning (10:10am) and the Cadogan Nitehawks later in the day (3:00pm).
