AXELRODE ORTHODONTICS 7,
GIANTS 5
April 28, 2012

On this beautiful Saturday afternoon, the Giants traveled to Ellerhorst Field in Pinole to take on Axelrode Orthodontics. It was the Giants' first game in which the coaches didn't handle the pitching duties. At the plate, this meant walks and hit batsmen would be part of the game as well. The Giants' pitchers and hitters acquitted themselves well, though they came up on the short end of the score.

Axelrode Orthodontics jumped ahead 3-0 in the first inning but the Giants tallied five times in the top of the second to grab a 5-3 lead. A.O. tied the score 5-5 in the home half of the second then pushed across two more runs in the third to take a 7-5 lead. The pitching and defense took over from there with A.O. holding onto their lead to claim the victory by a final score of 7-5.

The Giants can be proud of their solid effort with a shorthanded squad. Donovan and Daniel did exceptional work in their pitching debuts, keeping the team close throughout the contest.
