E.C. PADRES 23, GIANTS 14

April 1, 2012

After three rainouts, the Giants finally caught some sunshine for a road game with the El Cerrito Padres at Cerrito Vista Park. The Padres dominated the early going as they built a 23-0 lead through the first five innings.  The Giants were able to scratch out  only four singles in their first five turns at bat while being kept off the scoreboard. However, the Giants' bats caught fire in the top of the sixth inning with a furious 14 run rally.

The Giants batted around in the final frame with each player in the lineup collecting at least one hit. The big blows were Julian's double with the bases loaded that sent all three runners scampering home and Miko's towering three-run home run to leftfield. But the rally was extinguished with the Padres holding onto their lead for a well deserved victory. Despite coming up short, the Giants played hard and showed they aren't a team that gives up after falling behind.
