Brinkworth Out For The Rest Of The Season

Shawn Brinkworth, the teams emotional leader will have to lead from the bench the rest of the way as it turns out his thumb was fractured from a comebacker in the final in Goodfish Lake.  Brinkworth was having a decent season on the mound as he sported a 2-1 record and a 5.96 ERA in 23 innings.  Known for his big slow curve and dancing knuckler his outings were fun to watch as he often had batters ducking on strikes and taking feeble swings at his off speed stuff.

At the plate Brinkworth was in a funk of late, but was still contributing by often leaning into pitches to get on any way he could.  His heart and dedication has so far rubbed off on the rest of the team and his contributions to the outstanding season so far that the Milleteers have had go far beyond the stat lines.  For the rest of the year Brinkworth will have to wear the coaches hat and flash some signs down at third.
