«Garretson's loses pair on the road
GLENWOOD SPRINGS — Heritage jumped to a big early lead during a 10-6 victory against the Garretson's Bears Legion A baseball team, and the Western Slope Warriors followed with a 12-5 victory at the expense of the Bears.
Easton Ramirez, Jared Carey, Chase Maxey and Chris Sack each pounded out a pair of hits for the Bears in the opener. Heritage, however, pounded out 15 hits and took advantage of four errors. Robbie Reeve (0-1) took the pitching loss, surrendering eight hits.
Against the Warriors, Damen Cantrell had a 3-for-4 performance, as did Chase Maxey. The Warriors, however, used a seven-run seventh inning to take the lead and take control of the game.
Garretson's dropped to 2-6 in Legion A play (5-8 overall).
«Garretson's wins one, loses another
GLENWOOD SPRINGS — Late-inning walks helped Heritage prevail 10-9 against the Garretson's Bears Legion A baseball team on Saturday, but the Bears took advantage of some free passes issued by the Western Slope Warriors in a 17-12 victory later in the day.
With the win in the second game of the day, Garretson's improved to 2-3 in league play and 5-6 overall. The Bears will play against the Warriors at 9 a.m. today, followed by another game against Heritage at 11:30 a.m.
