The Eagles kept rolling with a convincing 9-1 victory over previously undefeated Bayless at the Affton Athletic Complex. Pacing Brentwood's 13-hit attack were home runs from Casey Jones, Adam Kobler and PJ Kobler. Senior hurler Andrew Newberry picked up his second win in as many starts as he held Bayless to 2 hits, striking out 8 along the way. Newberry was aided by a sensational catch by left-fielder Richard Lowe. Lowe prevented a grand slam after the Broncos had scored a run and were threatening to get more in the 5th inning. After that great play, the Eagles tacked on 3 more runs in the 6th inning to put the game out of reach.
With the win, Brentwood took over first place in the conference with a 3-0 record. Next up, a non-conference game against Gateway Academy on Monday afternoon at Brentwood Park. Come out and suppor the Eagles. They are playing great, exciting baseball! Game time is 4:15.
