 - The Final Countdown: Make it Count "Open Division - 2nd Place" - May 30, 2009. Tournament Results - Sunshine State Super NIT III "Major Division - 4th Place" - May 15, 2009. Tournament Results - Conference State Championship "Major Division - 3rd Place" - April 25, 2009. Tournament Results - Shootout at Sleep Hollow III "Major Division - 3rd Place" - March 23, 2009. The TC 9U boys faced the Orlando Panthers and fell behind early. The bats didn't quite wake up in the opening game on Saturday with TC losing 10-5 to an opponent TC beat earlier in the year. The TC boys rebounded right away in Game 2 of pool play facing off against the Jacksonville Royals. The bats came alive from the first pitch to the last pitch with TC winning soundly 27-6. Championship Sunday started off against the Central Florida Tigers. TC fell behind again early, 2-0. After 5 innings, TC still trailed 2-0. The 9U boys started a rally and tied it 2-2 going into the top of the 6th inning. The Tigers had bases loaded with no outs in the top of the 6th inning and TC got out of the inning with an amazing pitching performance. The bottom of the 6th start off with a single and then two successful bunts later the bases were loaded with no outs. The next batter hit a base hit through 1st and 2nd base to win the game! It was a great come-from-behind, walk-off win. The semi-final game was against the Elite Performance Cobras. This was the 4th meeting between the two teams. The 9U jummped ahead 2-0 but quickly gave away the lead and trailed for most of the game 8-2. A late rally was started by TC but fell short with TC losing 8-6. This was not our best weekend, however the TC boys played with a ton of heart on Sunday, never quitting. The TC 9U boys look to rebound at the Conference State Championships on April 25th in Altamonte Springs. Tournament Results - FTB President's Day Challenge "Open Division - 3rd Place" - February 16, 2009. The TC 9U boys got off to a slow start on Saturday in Game 1 against the Elite Performance Cobras. The team came out flat trailing early and just couldn't pull out a win, losing 11 - 5. In Game 2 TC faced off against the Central Florida Tigers and came out swinging, scoring early and often with a final score of 15 - 0 securing the 2nd seed for Championship Sunday. On Sunday, TC squared off a good Central Florida Legends team. TC continued to put the ball in play with the Legends answering every time on defense. TC trailed early and fell 6 - 2 to end the weekend. It was a 3rd place finish for Team Combat. All in all it was a good weekend for the team. Tournament Results - MLK Memorial Day Classic III "Open Division - Runner-Up" - January 26, 2009. The TC 9U boys got off to a great start of the spring tournament season with a 2nd place finish. On Saturday, TC got off to a fast start in Game 1 against the Orlando Panthers by scoring four runs in the first inning and never let up to win 12-1. In Game 2 against the Windermere Warthogs, TC continued to swing the bats winning 20-0 securing the Number 1 seed for Championship Sunday. Championship Sunday started off with a tough test against the West Orange Wolves. TC fell behind early 3-1 and then 7-6 only to mount a huge rally to go up 11-7. A late rally by the Wolves was stopped with TC taking the game 11-9. This booked a seat in the Championship game in the first tournament of the spring season. The Championship game would be another tough test against Mizuno Glory. TC came out swinging and took an early lead 2-1. Both teams continued to score with TC battling for six full innings. TC fell 14-8 but the score did not indicate how great the team played. This was by far one of the best weekends the team has had. It was another great effort by everyone on the team.
