Condolences

We offer our condolences to the family of Mr. Bill Lynch, who passed away on July 26. For years, Mr. Lynch was active in youth sports in Brentwood, MO as well as the community in general. He coached numerous sports, in particular, baseball and basketball in the Brentwood CYC program. Bill was an avid supporter of the Brentwood High School Baseball Program and rarely missed a game. His sons, Tom and Dan both played key roles in an undefeated 2010 conference season. He was a tireless worker
and never backed away from a challenge!
Mr. Lynch's presence, and energy
will be sorely missed.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Mrs. Lynch
and the entire family.

 RECAP OF PAST SEASONS

2007 Season Recap

Coach Niemann Retires

After 9 seasons as Head Coach and 22 years at Brentwood, Rich Niemann has retired from teaching chemistry at Brentwood High School.

During his head coaching tenure, Mr. Niemann compiled a record of 106 wins and 65 losses, including 4 conference championships and 3 2nd place finishes.

Coach Niemann will be succeeded by Coach Mike Imergoot, who has been at Coach Niemann's side throughout his head coaching term.

Happily, Rich will remain on the varsity staff and serve as Associate Coach, assisting Coach I as bench coach and hittsing instructor. The new Assistant Head Coach is former Brentwood Baseball star, Jon Kalb. Jon brings a wealth of knowledge and entusiasm to our well-established program. John will concentrate on managing the pitching staff in addition to his responsibilities as Assistant Head Coach. We're glad to have John onboard!

Welcome to the New Head Coach!

After serving as Assistant Varsity Head Coach & Pitching Coach for 10 years, Mike Imergoot will take over the reins from the retiring Rich Niemann. Coach I. was an All-conference pitcher at U.City High School. He played college baseball at Washington University and was a four-year varsity pitcher. Mike has been involved in baseball for over 35-years as a player, coach and umpire. Coach Imergoot is looking forward to his newly appointed position. Welcome Coach I!

Eagles Season Ends
A 13-0, district semi-final whitewhashing at the hands of the reining class 2 state champion, Valle Catholic, brought down the curtain on the Eagles season. Nevertheless, it was a terrific season as our Eagles finished with a 13-6 overall record and a Conference Championship, going 9-0. Thanks to seniors Tom Lynch, Aaron Donica, Tom Wright, and Tywan Brooks for their valuable contributions. We'll all miss you!

 Eagles Rip Barat

After a week of rain, the Brentwood Eagles finally played baseball. Brentwood showed absolutely no rust as they jumped on Barat Academy for five runs in the first inning and never let up as they won this first-round district game 9-3. Lead-off hitter, Tommy Lynch jump -started the Eagles, going 3-4 and sparkled in the field. Once again, Ryan Jones was a rock on the mound. The junior right-hander scattered five hits and was in control all night as he ran his record to a perfect 7-0. The game ended at 12:00 midnight, but time was not on the Eagles' mind as they took care of business and savored a satisfying win. Brentwood is riding a four -game winning streak, pushing their recored to 13-5!

Kevin Smith toes the rubber today in a 2:30 pm semi-final against the reining Classs 2 state champion, Valle Ste. Genevieve at Brentwood Park. Come on out and watch this hustling, "never-say-die" flock of Eagles!

Eagles Wear the Crown

Outstanding pitching, timely hitting, and steady defense are the formula for success. On Friday, the Brentwood Eagles put it all together as they swept rival Valley Park, 11-3 and 12-11, to claim the SCAA Conference Championship, with a perfect 9-0 record.

In game one, the Eagles spotted VP three early runs, but a four-run second inning, coupled with three more in the fifth and and four in the sixth removed all doubt as Brentwood cruised to an 11-3 victory. Ryan Jones shut down the Hawks, holding them to seven hits as he ran his perfect record to 6-0. Brentwood was paced by senior Tom Lynch, who was 3 for 3 and drove in three runs. Kevin Smith chipped in with three hits as the Eagles totaled twelve all together.

The second game was in doubt until the final out. The Eagles were cruising thanks to a 4-hit night from Tommy Lynch and heroic pitching from Kevin Smith. For the night, Lynch was 7-8 with four RBIs and two stolen bases!

It was a terrific effort by this band of Eagles who don't know the meaning of the word quit. Congratulations to the Champions; well deserved!

The Eagles open district play next Saturday with a first-round game against Barat. Game time at Brentwood Park is 3:30 pm. Come on out an root for the Eagles as they seek a District Championship.
