Eagles Split a Pair with Valley Park

Tuesday was no day for the faint of heart! On a dreary afternoon at Brentwood Park, the Brentwood Eagles and Valley Park Hawks put on a terrific show as the two long-time rivals split a doubleheader.

In game one, Valley Park jumped on ace Adam Kobler and built a 10-0 lead. Not to be discouraged, the Eagles bounced back in a big way, tying the game at 10-10, then taking the lead briefly, only to lose 14-12! Valley Park scored three runs in the 7th after two were out to notch the win.

In the nightcap, the Eagles led 8-5 entering the bottom of the 7th inning, and held on for a thrilling 8-7 victory. Tom Lynch got the save, retiring the final batter on a long fly to center field with the bases loaded. Kevin Smith picked up his second win!

All in all, it was a great afternoon of baseball. The "never say die" Eagles put on a terrific show! Coach Niemann and Coach I are very proud of their battling ball club!
